Organization Summary Dashboard

Learn more about how to filter data in the Mass.gov Organization Summary Dashboard and how to use the metrics to report on your content.

The Organization Summary Dashboard is a useful tool that enables you to quickly access web analytics data for all your content without searching for each page individually. The dashboard also makes it easy to compare different organizations across a range of metrics.

Organization Summary Dashboard Overview

The Organization Summary Dashboard is linked on the right side of your welcome page after you log in to edit.mass.gov.

When you launch the dashboard, you’ll see two tabs in a menu on the left:

  • Organization Summary

  • Organization Details

Organization Summary

On the Organization Summary tab, you can choose your organization from a dropdown list at the top of the page. If you would like to compare metrics from 2 or more organizations, deselect all by unchecking the box next to “organization-name” and selecting the specific organizations you would like to compare.

The Organization Pages section shows the following:

  • Total page views

  • Percentage change of previous month’s page views

  • Number of pages

  • Total users

  • Average grade level

  • Average Nos per 1K pageviews

  • Number of Nos to the Did You Find survey

  • Number of Yeses to the Did You Find survey

The Top Translated Languages section displays the languages users translated your web pages to the most, sorted by the number of translations. This data can be helpful as it provides insights on how to improve your content to better serve your audience and improve audience comprehension.

The Document Downloads section provides a list of document URLs featured on your organization's pages, sorted by the number of downloads.

The Page Views by Device Type chart shows the percentage of users accessing your organization's Mass.gov content on different devices — desktop computers, tablets, mobile phones, and smart TVs. This information helps you understand how your audience is viewing your pages.

Organization Details

On the Organization Details tab, you can select your organization from the Organization Name dropdown list and refine your search by content type using the Content Type dropdown list. For instance, you can filter the search results to display metrics only for Service pages or Information details pages. Since this dashboard is more focused, you cannot compare the metrics of different organizations against each other.

This section of the dashboard displays a Page Summary window, providing detailed information about your organization's pages:

  • Total Pageviews

  • Percent change of previous month’s pageviews

  • Broken links

  • Grade Level

  • Misspellings

  • Nos per 1K pageviews

Exporting Data

You can export the data from any chart or data table featured in this dashboard. Move your cursor to hover over any chart and click the 3 stacked dots you see above the data you'd like to export. Click "Export" to download a CSV file of the data.
